Guge Ruin

Guge Ruin

In Ngari, the Holy Mountain and Sacred Lakes, the ancient ruins have been perpetually drawing the most sincere pilgrims taking great hardships and risks to pay their respect to this most uninhabited yet naturally and spiritually amazing place.

Ngari area is the western-most part of Tibet Autonomous Region. With elevation averaging 4,800m, it is the highest ground in Tibet, in fact the highest in the world: no wonder it is called "The ridge of the roof of the world"! Though natural conditions ar e exceedingly tough in Ngari region, there are unique charms that can only be found here.
