Ngari area, the western-most part of Tibet Autonomous Region, is a very special place. With elevation averaging 4,800m, it is the highest ground in Tibet, in fact the highest in the world: no wonder it is called "The ridge of the roof of the world"! Thoug h natural conditions are exceedingly tough in Ngari region, there are unique charms that can only be found here.
