Mt. MeiLi before Dawn55/60
Located in the northwestern-most corner of YunNan province, "MeiLi Mountain,
peaks at 6,740m. It is not the tallest mountain in the world, but holds a
significant place in YunNan and in the hearts of Buddhist believers—it is
one of the Sacred Mountains. It is also a mountain that has never been
"conquered" by humans: mountain climbers have always failed to reach its
peak, often with deaths. The greater region surrounding Mt. MeiLi is
famed for its natural beauties, unique geographic features,
and rich local minority cultures. This greater region has been designated
as another one of UNESCO's "World Heritage of Nature" sites.
